UKHab Ltd welcomes the launch of Biodiversity Net Gain Metric 4.0, launched by Defra and Natural England on 24th March 2023.

The terrestrial habitats listed within the Metric are based on the UK Habitat Classification (“UKHab”). The full UKHab classification is available from this website (here). There is a further document that includes new UKHab hedgerow and GI codes that feature in version 4.0 and will be in Version 2.0 of UKHab

UKHab Ltd recommends the use of the full professional version of UKHab in surveys for Biodiversity Net Gain purposes.
